Islamic Knowledge
Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim, whether male or female. Allah has highlighted the significance of education and learning in several places in the Quran. The first revelation given to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also emphasizes the importance of reading and learning: "Read in the name of your Lord who created." (Surah Al-Alaq: 1) This verse itself is proof of how much Islam values knowledge. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also said: "Whoever follows a path in pursuit of knowledge, Allah will make the path to Paradise easy for him." (Muslim) In today’s world, acquiring knowledge should not be limited to worldly benefits but should also focus on spiritual and moral growth. Our scholars and predecessors have always encouraged spreading knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge in Islam is not limited to religious studies; worldly education is also important. However, true success lies in balancing both religious and worldly knowledge in a way that benefits us in this life and the Hereafter. What Do You Think? Do you believe today’s youth truly understand the value of knowledge in Islam? Share your thoughts in the comments!
